Environmental Policy

We are lucky to live in a beautiful part of a beautiful country and we are committed to doing our best to minimise our impact on the environment.

We take measures wherever possible to minimise our waste, maximise re-use and recycling and conserve energy.

This is an ongoing process and brining a 19th Century house into the 21st Century takes time and effort on our part.

We hope you appreciate our efforts in this regard and enjoy using our eco friendly toiletries, having free range eggs for breakfast and knowing that 100% of the waste produced by Bay Court is diverted from landfill (it is either sorted and recycled or sent to waste2energy plants).

Current environmental practices

Using energy efficient lightbulbs throughout the building

Switching off lights during the day

Having a linen & towel reuse plan

Providing biodegradable toiletries packed in recycled minimal packaging

Using local produce when possible for breakfast ingredients

Using only free range eggs for breakfast

Contracting a waste management service to recycle glass, plastic & paper and divert 100% of our waste from landfill.

How you can help

Just by bearing 2 things in mind you can help us stick to our environmental goals and know that you are helping to minimise your impact on the local environment.

1. Switch off lights and taps when not in use.

2. Consider whether you really want your towel changing on a daily basis.  We are happy to do this at your request, but if you would rather we didn’t, then please hang up your towel to show you are happy to re use it.
